WEEKLY REFLECTION SECOND PHASE (fourth week )

Image
24 NOVEMBER 2025- 28 NOVEMBER 2025  The entire weekend felt much calmer than the previous ones. We had the chance to directly observe many students, each displaying unique behaviours, learning styles, and levels of understanding. Despite these differences, I made it a point to include everyone in the learning process and encouraged each student to perform to the best of their ability. The school environment was very supportive, and the students were both cooperative and affectionate. We also handled substitution duties and discipline responsibilities, which gave us a deeper insight into how the school system functions. One of the most valuable lessons I gained was learning how to manage difficult students. Every learner is different, and they must be approached accordingly—some need love and patience, while others benefit from reassurance and gentle guidance. Overall, the weekend was peaceful, enjoyable, and productive. On the final day, Anamika Ma’am visited to observe my fellow...

WEEKLY REFLECTION SECOND PHASE (third week)

17 November 2025 – 21 November 2025 “The best teachers show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see".  The third week of my second phase teaching practice was steady, busy, and truly enriching. It offered a blend of routine classroom teaching, academic responsibilities, and additional school duties that broadened my experience as a trainee teacher. Throughout the week, I handled multiple classes and felt my confidence growing as I managed lessons, substitutions, and learner interactions. Students have now become familiar with my teaching style; they respond actively, engage willingly in discussions, and approach activities with enthusiasm. This week involved several substitution duties , allowing me to observe different classes and gain deeper understanding of learner diversity. I was also assigned discipline duty , which helped me practice patience, classroom control, and positive behaviour management. Additionally, I participated in library work , which include...

10 NOVEMBER 2025 - 14 NOVEMBER 2025  "The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” — Mark Van Doren This week marked the second week of my second phase teaching practice, and unlike the previous one, it was a full five-day working week from Monday to Friday. Each day offered new learning experiences, new responsibilities, and many meaningful interactions that continue to shape me as a budding teacher. I handled five classes throughout the week, and with every session, I felt myself becoming more confident, more connected, and more grounded in my role. My rapport with the students has visibly strengthened — they now greet me with excitement, respond actively, and participate with genuine interest. Academically, I continued with the lesson portions assigned to me and ensured that every class included a balance of explanation, interaction, and reinforcement. I used flashcards, charts, activity cards, and quick warm-up questions to keep the lessons engaging and student...

WEEKLY REFLECTION SECOND PHASE (FIRST WEEK)

Image
Our second phase of teaching practice began on 5th November 2025 at GHSS Anchalummood . I am truly glad to continue this journey with my friends Aleena and Aiswarya , just as we did in the first phase. Returning to the same school felt both familiar and refreshing, as we were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students. Since this week was a short one, with only Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as working days, we mainly focused on getting back into the classroom routine and re-establishing rapport with our students. I was assigned to continue teaching English, and I began revising the lessons from the previous phase while introducing new portions. The students responded with great enthusiasm, making the sessions lively and interactive. The highlight of this week was Friday’s celebration of the school’s victory in the Sub-District Championship . The entire campus was filled with excitement as students and teachers joined together to celebrate the success. A rally was conducted to ...
