WEEKLY REFLECTION SECOND PHASE (third week)
17 November 2025 – 21 November 2025
“The best teachers show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see".
The third week of my second phase teaching practice was steady, busy, and truly enriching. It offered a blend of routine classroom teaching, academic responsibilities, and additional school duties that broadened my experience as a trainee teacher.
Throughout the week, I handled multiple classes and felt my confidence growing as I managed lessons, substitutions, and learner interactions. Students have now become familiar with my teaching style; they respond actively, engage willingly in discussions, and approach activities with enthusiasm.
This week involved several substitution duties, allowing me to observe different classes and gain deeper understanding of learner diversity. I was also assigned discipline duty, which helped me practice patience, classroom control, and positive behaviour management. Additionally, I participated in library work, which included arranging books and updating the library register — a task that reminded me of the importance of maintaining effective learning spaces.
A special event this week was the Road Safety Awareness Class, which offered students valuable insights and gave me an opportunity to assist and observe the coordination of such school programmes.
