Celebrating the 78th Independence Day at FMTC Mylapore

  On August 15, 2024, FMTC Mylapore celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great pride and patriotism. The event took place at the college campus, with Sri Shahjahan Younus, the Chairman of FMET, as the esteemed Chief Guest. The ceremony commenced with the flag hoisting, led by the Chairman, instilling a sense of unity and national pride among all present. The event was formally opened with a heartfelt welcome speech by Dr. Lakshmi Natarajan, Principal of FMTC Mylapore, who highlighted the significance of independence and the responsibility of future educators in shaping a progressive India. The atmosphere was further energized with a series of colorful cultural performances. FMTC Mylapore Participates in Mass Blood Donation Drive: A Day of Service and Contribution

  On August 14, 2024, we, a group of students from FMTC Mylapore, participated in a mass blood donation drive organized by the Younus Group of Institutions in association with IMA, the Blood Bank of Kollam, and NSS. The event, held at the Younus College of Engineering & Technology, began at 9:30 AM. With enthusiasm and a sense of purpose, we departed from our college early in the morning, eager to contribute to this noble cause. Upon reaching the venue, the atmosphere was charged with a spirit of community service. Students, faculty members, and other volunteers had gathered to support the initiative, all motivated by the desire to help save lives. The blood donation camp was efficiently organized, with the IMA and Blood Bank staff guiding us through the process of registration, screening, and donation. The event was designed not just as a welcome but as an opportunity for the new batch to showcase their hidden talents and get to know their peers in a fun and supportive atmosphere. As second-year students, we took pride in planning and executing the entire program. We wanted it to be a memorable experience for the freshers, and from the enthusiastic participation we received, it was clear we achieved our goal. The event focused on the various opportunities and challenges of teaching in the UAE, covering key areas such as qualifications, teaching licenses, costs, and the role of women in education. The session was led by two distinguished speakers: Mr. George Christy Fernandez, a UAE ADEK/MOE certified English language teacher, and Ms. Bincy George, an MOE-approved science facilitator. Mr. George Christy Fernandez provided a detailed overview of the qualifications required for teaching in the UAE. He discussed the process of obtaining a teaching license, including exams and professional development, while addressing the costs involved, such as application fees and background checks.
