ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON TEACHING IN UAE

On August 1, 2024, FMTC Mylapore hosted an engaging orientation session titled "Teaching in UAE - Being a Global Educator." The event focused on the various opportunities and challenges of teaching in the UAE, covering key areas such as qualifications, teaching licenses, costs, and the role of women in education. The session was led by two distinguished speakers: Mr. George Christy Fernandez, a UAE ADEK/MOE certified English language teacher, and Ms. Bincy George, an MOE-approved science facilitator.

Mr. George Christy Fernandez provided a detailed overview of the qualifications required for teaching in the UAE. He discussed the process of obtaining a teaching license, including exams and professional development, while addressing the costs involved, such as application fees and background checks. Mr. Fernandez emphasized the need for continuous growth and preparedness to succeed in a multicultural environment like the UAE.

Ms. Bincy George shared her insights on the role of women in education, particularly in leadership roles within the UAE. She highlighted the supportive policies in place for women educators, while also touching on the challenges they face. Her personal journey as an MOE-approved facilitator inspired many attendees, motivating them to explore the opportunities available for women in teaching. The event left participants with a clear understanding of what it takes to become a successful global educator in the UAE.
