CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME
As part of World Mental Health Day, a conscientization programme was successfully conducted on October 10, 2025, by the teacher trainees of Fatima Memorial Training College, Mylapore—Riza Saijo, Aishwarya S L, and Aleena Johnson. The programme was organized for the students of Class X H with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.
The session focused on helping students understand what mental health is and why it is just as important as physical health. Through interactive discussions and simple examples, students were made aware of common mental health challenges faced by adolescents, such as stress, anxiety, exam pressure, and emotional struggles. Emphasis was also given to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and encouraging students to speak openly about their feelings.
Practical tips for maintaining good mental health, including positive thinking, healthy routines, seeking help, and supporting peers, were shared during the session. The students actively participated and showed keen interest, making the programme meaningful and impactful.
The conscientization programme served as a valuable step towards nurturing emotionally healthy individuals and promoting a supportive school environment where mental well-being is prioritized.
