Day 1 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp π✨
Fathima Memorial Training College successfully organized “Sahasrayam,” a five-day community living camp aimed at integrating learning with service and social responsibility. Day 1 began on a calm and meaningful note with a prayer led by Sreelekshmi, invoking a spirit of harmony, gratitude, and togetherness.
The programme continued with a warm welcome address by Vice Principal, Ms. Anupama, who highlighted the importance of community living in the holistic development of future educators. In her inspiring presidential address, Principal Dr. Omana Sheelan emphasized the role of such camps in shaping socially responsible, empathetic, and dedicated teachers.
The inaugural ceremony reached its peak when Honourable MLA Mr. Vishnunadh officially inaugurated the camp. His motivating words left a lasting impression on the trainees, and his soulful musical rendition added a unique and memorable charm to the occasion. Felicitation addresses followed, acknowledging the collective efforts behind the successful organization of the camp.
Adding a festive and cultural flavour to the day, students organized “Samrudhya,” a Payasam Mela, where a variety of delicious payasams were prepared and shared. This activity beautifully symbolized teamwork, unity, and the joy of collective participation. The inaugural session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Krishna Sree.
The post-inaugural sessions sustained the momentum of learning and collaboration. Under the guidance of Jayasagar Sir and Team Tango, students actively engaged in interactive games, group activities, and reflective sessions that blended enjoyment with meaningful learning.
A major highlight of the day was the educational survey conducted at Mayyanad and Thrikkovilvattam Panchayaths, which provided trainees with direct exposure to community realities. The survey helped identify children in need of educational support, transforming theoretical knowledge into real-life lessons of empathy, responsibility, and social awareness.
The day concluded on a vibrant note with a Music Feast at 7:00 pm, filling the campus with rhythm, enthusiasm, and youthful energy.

Day 2 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp π
The second day of Sahasrayam unfolded with renewed enthusiasm as trainees began the morning with an energizing fitness session, setting a disciplined and positive tone for the day.
The academic highlight was an inspiring session by the renowned teacher motivator Mr. Nazim Yahia on “Crafting Careers: From Aspiration to Achievement.” His thought-provoking words encouraged students to dream big, trust their abilities, and remain committed to their goals. The session left participants motivated, confident, and empowered.
The afternoon sessions celebrated creativity and cultural appreciation. Through his engaging presentation titled “Craftopia: A World of Handmade Wonders,” Mr. Satheesh Kochunarayan introduced students to the world of handicrafts, emphasizing their role in preserving tradition and cultural heritage. The session sparked curiosity and admiration for craftsmanship among the trainees.
A deeply touching experience followed with a visit to Sadhanam Government Old Age Home, Anchalummood. The trainees spent quality time interacting with the residents, sharing conversations, smiles, and warmth. This visit instilled a profound sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility among the students.
The day concluded peacefully with a serene beach visit, offering trainees an opportunity to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate amidst the soothing sounds of the waves and the beauty of the sunset.

Day 3 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp π
The third day of Sahasrayam emerged as a vibrant blend of wellness, service, professional learning, and cultural celebration.
The day began with a refreshing yoga session, promoting physical health and mental clarity, followed by a nourishing breakfast. A major highlight was the medical camp organized at N.S. Hospital, where healthcare services in Ophthalmology, ENT, General Medicine, and Dental care were provided. This initiative reflected the camp’s strong commitment to community service and social welfare.
The afternoon session focused on professional development. A thought-provoking keynote address was delivered by Dr. E. K. Jijan, Associate Professor, Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram, on “Building Bonds: People Skills in the Life of a Pedagogue.” The session emphasized communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and emotional intelligence as essential qualities of an effective teacher.
The evening transformed into a joyful cultural celebration with “Kappayum Curriyum,” a lively programme sponsored by the Principal of FMTC. The campus resonated with laughter, music, and cheer, further enhanced by charming Onam Mood On decorations, which added traditional warmth to the atmosphere.
Overall, Day 3 successfully wove together health awareness, community service, professional growth, and cultural enjoyment, making it a truly memorable day.
Day 4 – Onam Celebration at FMTC π
Onam 2025
Onam 2025 at Fathima Memorial Training College was celebrated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and festive spirit of Kerala’s most beloved festival. Dressed in traditional attire, students began the day with a delicious Kerala breakfast, setting the perfect mood for the celebrations.
The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mr. Ajay Chandran, Film Chamber Secretary, whose presence added significance to the occasion. The Principal’s Onam message highlighted values of harmony, gratitude, and togetherness, bringing cultural depth to the celebration.
A series of engaging competitions followed, with “Malayali Manka” emerging as a major highlight, showcasing students’ talents in dance and music. Adding a social dimension, the NSS Programme Officers organized the distribution of Onam kits, spreading happiness and reinforcing the spirit of sharing.
The most awaited moment was the grand Onam Sadhya, where students and faculty enjoyed traditional Kerala delicacies served on banana leaves, symbolizing unity and tradition.
The celebrations continued with Vanchi Patt, fun games like musical chairs, and concluded with tea, snacks, and a vibrant Fusion Ganamela, filling the campus with music and joy.
Overall, Onam 2025 at FMTC stood out as a memorable celebration of culture, tradition, social responsibility, and togetherness.
Day 5 – Concluding Day π

The concluding trip to Thenmala and Palaruvi beautifully captured the essence of Sahasrayam. More than a recreational outing, it became a deeply enriching experience that blended nature, friendship, and reflection.
Surrounded by lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and serene landscapes, participants enjoyed moments of relaxation, bonding, and introspection. The scenic beauty provided the perfect setting for shared joy, laughter, and meaningful connections.
This final journey symbolized the true spirit of Sahasrayam—learning together, living together, and growing together. As the camp came to an end, it left behind strengthened relationships, renewed perspectives, and lasting memories rooted in unity, service, and appreciation for nature.
