🌍 World Population Day 2025 – A Day to Reflect and Raise Awareness

On 11 July 2025, our college – Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam – observed World Population Day with our NSS Unit (KL-07-178) leading the way. As an active NSS volunteer, I felt proud to be part of a program that went beyond just celebration — it truly made us think.

The day began with a warm gathering in the Seminar Hall, beautifully decorated and buzzing with energy. A thought-provoking quiz competition tested our knowledge about population trends, global statistics, and their effects on society. It wasn’t just a test of facts, but a reminder of how little we often think about such a crucial issue.

The debate session that followed was my personal favorite. Students passionately discussed overpopulation, its impact on the environment, and the need for better awareness and policies. Their arguments were sharp, respectful, and deeply insightful.

It was inspiring to see how events like these can spark conversations and encourage responsibility. The NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” truly echoed in every activity.

World Population Day 2025 reminded me that change begins with awareness — and as students, we hold the power to shape a better, balanced future.
