COLLEGE UNION AND ARTS CLUB INAUGURATION DAY

On October 30th, 2024, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam, held a grand inauguration ceremony for its College Union and Arts Club. This event brought together distinguished guests, faculty, and students in a celebration of leadership, creativity, and community. The College Union was officially inaugurated by Member of Parliament N. K. Premachandran, whose presence added a touch of inspiration to the occasion. Renowned multi-instrumentalist Anunand S took charge of the Arts Club inauguration, encouraging students to explore and express their artistic talents. DIWALI CELEBRATION

On October 30th, 2024, Fathima Memorial Training College celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm, hosting an inter-department rangoli competition titled Rang Barse. The college auditorium came alive with vibrant colors, as students from various departments showcased their creativity through intricate rangoli designs. This friendly competition fostered team spirit and allowed students to express the essence of Diwali through art. The event was not only a visual treat but also strengthened bonds among students, enhancing cultural appreciation. Such celebrations bring the college community together, honoring traditions while creating lasting memories for everyone involved.  

FIELD TRIP

On the 24th of October, the 2024-26 batch of Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, embarked on an exciting field trip to the scenic hill station of Vagamon. Organized by our college, this trip was filled with adventure, bonding, and the beauty of nature. Our group set out early in the morning, filled with anticipation and excitement for the journey ahead. Vagamon welcomed us with its cool breeze, misty hills, and lush green landscapes. We started our exploration at Pine Valley, a serene and enchanting forest of towering pine trees. Walking through the thick pine forest felt like stepping into a magical world. The peaceful surroundings and the fresh pine-scented air gave us a break from the bustle of daily life and allowed us to appreciate nature’s quiet beauty. CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

On October 21st,  2024, Fathima Memorial Training College in Mylapore hosted a Capacity Building Programme focusing on the "Development of Leadership Quality & Stress Management." The session was held in the college auditorium at 10:00 AM and was led by Sreevidya Ma'am from Fathima Memorial Training College, Pallimukku. The programme aimed to enhance students' leadership skills and equip them with techniques to manage stress effectively—two critical areas for personal and professional growth. Sreevidya Ma'am’s approach was both engaging and insightful, with practical tips on handling everyday challenges and building resilience. She emphasized the importance of balancing responsibility and well-being, offering strategies that could be easily applied in our daily lives. On the 16th of October, the Department of English at Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, opened the doors to a magical realm we called Wondoria. Inspired by the enchanting world of Alice in Wonderland, this event transformed our campus into a whimsical setting that left everyone in awe. With mushroom decorations, floating bubbles, and eerie lights that recreated the essence of a fantasy forest, Wondoria was a true escape from reality. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed principal, Dr. Lakshmy Natarajan, who shared words of encouragement and pride in seeing our creative vision come to life. Her presence added a special charm to the event, making the launch even more memorable. MEGA CLEANLINESS DRIVE

 On October 2nd, 2024, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore (Unit KL-07-178) is organizing a "Mega Cleanliness Drive" in honor of Gandhi Jayanti. This initiative aligns with the "Swachhata Hi Seva 2024" campaign, running from September 17th to October 2nd, promoting cleanliness and societal values under the theme "Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata." The event will take place at the Kollam Collectorate at 9 AM, with Shri. Devidas N, IAS, the Honorable District Collector of Kollam, inaugurating the program. The drive embodies Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean and self-sufficient India, encouraging active community participation in maintaining public spaces.  International Day of Older Persons by Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, on October 1, 2024. This day focuses on honoring elderly individuals and acknowledging their wisdom and experiences. The event is scheduled to take place at the college auditorium at 10:30 AM. The illustration on the poster features a young person assisting an elderly woman, symbolizing intergenerational support and care. At the event, we also took a pledge to support older individuals in our communities, commit to their well-being, and value their contributions. The pledge highlighted the importance of compassion, understanding, and creating an inclusive society where older adults feel respected and valued. The observance is a wonderful initiative to bring attention to the role of older people in society and foster a spirit of togetherness.
