TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

The Teacher’s Day celebration at Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, was a heartfelt event honoring the lineage of Guruparampara and the dedication of teachers. The event, held on September 5th, 2024, was graced by Dr. Lakshmi Natarajan, the Principal of FMTC, Mylapore, who delivered the Presidential Address, and Dr. Seema K. Nayar, a retired professor from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, who inaugurated the ceremony. The theme of the event was inspired by the words of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan: "The true teachers are those who help us think for ourselves," setting a reflective tone for the day's proceedings. The program started with an invocation, followed by a ceremonial welcome to the guests. Dr. Lakshmi Natarajan emphasized the importance of teachers in shaping future generations and nurturing intellectual growth. Dr. Seema K. Nayar’s inauguration speech highlighted the evolving role of teachers in modern education.

The program was rich with performances that celebrated the bond between students and teachers. Students put up an enthralling dance performance that showcased traditional and contemporary themes, illustrating the cultural diversity embraced by the institution. This was followed by a soulful group song, expressing gratitude and admiration for the teachers who guide and support their journey of learning. In addition to these cultural performances, there were interactive sessions where students shared personal anecdotes and memories of their favorite teachers, bringing smiles to the faces of the honored guests. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a grand felicitation ceremony, where teachers were presented with tokens of appreciation for their unwavering commitment to education.  This Teacher's Day celebration was a beautiful tribute, fostering a sense of unity and respect between teachers and students, embodying the spirit of Guruparampara.
