NSS Day Celebration at FMTC Mylapore

On September 24, 2024, FMTC Mylapore celebrated NSS Day with great enthusiasm and spirit, emphasizing the core values of service and community involvement. The day began with a heartfelt rendition of the NSS Song, sung by students, which beautifully encapsulated the essence of selfless service and dedication towards the betterment of society.


The celebration continued with an inspiring NSS Day message delivered by the NSS program officer. The message highlighted the importance of social responsibility and encouraged students to actively engage in community service. It emphasized how NSS not only fosters personal growth but also cultivates a sense of empathy and civic duty among young individuals.


One of the key activities of the day was a campus cleaning drive. Students gathered in teams, armed with brooms and trash bags, to clean the campus, promoting environmental awareness and hygiene. This initiative served as a reminder of the crucial role each individual plays in maintaining a clean and green environment. The sense of camaraderie and teamwork among participants was evident as they worked together towards a common goal.


To conclude the celebration on a sweet note, delicious sweets were distributed among students and staff. This gesture symbolized the joy of giving and sharing, reinforcing the NSS ethos of compassion and community spirit. 


Overall, the NSS Day celebration at FMTC Mylapore was not just an event; it was a meaningful reminder of the values of service, unity, and environmental stewardship, inspiring everyone to continue contributing positively to society.

WEEKLY REFLECTION SIXTH WEEK (FIRST PHASE)

The past week of my teaching practice (Days 21–25) was both engaging and rewarding. On Day 21, after the Onam vacation, I taught Articles through the Concept Attainment Model, where students actively discovered rules through examples and non-examples. The following days (22–25) were dedicated to the inspiring chapter The Day My World Changed by Malala Yousafzai, taught using ICT. Each day, I carried the chapter forward step by step, making use of PowerPoint slides, visuals, and activity cards to bring Malala’s story to life. Students were highly motivated, sharing their thoughts on education and courage, which made the lessons more meaningful. I also had varied experiences beyond the classroom, like serving the midday meal, handling substitution hours, and managing double-period sessions.
