Day 29 – Day 33:  22 September - 26 September 2025 “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” – W.B. Yeats This week marked another significant phase in my teaching practice at GHSS Anchalummood, filled with both classroom learning and co-curricular engagements. I reached school at 9.20 a.m. each day, prepared to continue my teaching journey with renewed energy. I successfully completed the chapter The Day My World Changed by Malala Yousafzai using ICT-based teaching methods. The use of technology not only enhanced student engagement but also made the text more relatable and interactive. Following the completion, I guided students through various textual activities , which helped reinforce their comprehension. Another focus of the week was introducing new grammar topics and methods. I used the Direct Method to teach Question Formation and employed the Advance Organizer Model to explain Subject and Predicate . These strategies encouraged act...

WEEKLY REFLECTION SEVENTH WEEK (FIRST PHASE)

DAY 26- DAY 28: 15 September- 17 September 2025  The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” – Mark Van Doren This week of teaching practice was centered on continuing the chapter The Day My World Changed by Malala Yousafzai. The focus of my lessons was not only on covering the text but also on encouraging students to respond creatively through activities like letter writing and paragraph writing. By linking Malala’s story with the personal experiences and aspirations of students, I could see how literature can inspire and shape young minds. These three days strengthened my confidenc...

The past week of my teaching practice (Days 21–25) was both engaging and rewarding. On Day 21, after the Onam vacation, I taught Articles through the Concept Attainment Model, where students actively discovered rules through examples and non-examples. The following days (22–25) were dedicated to the inspiring chapter The Day My World Changed by Malala Yousafzai, taught using ICT. Each day, I carried the chapter forward step by step, making use of PowerPoint slides, visuals, and activity cards to bring Malala’s story to life. Students were highly motivated, sharing their thoughts on education and courage, which made the lessons more meaningful. I also had varied experiences beyond the classroom, like serving the midday meal, handling substitution hours, and managing double-period sessions. These days taught me the importance of pacing, balancing ICT with interaction, and sustaining student interest. Overall, this phase deepened my confidence as a teacher-in-training. Lesson Plan 21 Less...
